artist statementAfter the bushfires and isolation from covid19, in the year that was 2020 I was reminded that through all the challenges presented to us - the birds still sing.
This was my comfort and nourishment. A hope for the future formed from the resilience of nature. That place where we reconnect and refresh and rejuvenate our spirit. For many nature and the bush is a place of sanctuary. A place of belonging. identity. safety. security. A place where we can shut out the world, find peace and just be. A place we must protect. 2023 '25th Liverpool Art Society Award' - casula power house, casula (and the birds still sang no.2)
