artist statementThese works document a personal journey of rediscovery. The work is about celebration and the abundance of riches that we all possess. It is about seeking to acknowledge the positive, the glimmers of hope and the small victories each day brings.
Joy is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart. It is what makes life beautiful. It s something deep within and it does not leave quickly. But sometimes in life when things are challenging we have to search very hard to once again find it. These works were painted at such a time in my life. description/ materialsencaustic mixed media on board.
